Dyson v10 vs v15

Dyson v8 vs v15 – Check Which One Is Best & Why?

Vacuum Cleaner

Dyson V15 was released in March 2021 & V8 was released in 2016. Both Vacuums are amazing and have some similarities, but if you are looking for the best one for better performance, I would recommend the Dyson V15 rather than the V8.

Why Do I recommend the Dyson V15?

  • The Dyson V15 features a Hyperdymium motor that delivers 230 AW of suction power, which is double than the power of the V8’s motor (115 AW). This makes the V15 significantly more effective in picking up fine dust, pet hair, and larger debris from both carpets & hard floors.
  • The V15 offers up to 60 minutes of run-time compared to the V8’s 40 minutes. Additionally, the V15 has intelligent power management that optimizes battery usage based on the type of floor being cleaned.
  • With a dustbin capacity of 0.77 liters, the V15 reduces the frequency of emptying compared to the V8’s 0.54 liters. This larger capacity is particularly beneficial for cleaning larger homes or multiple rooms without interruption.
  • The V15 is equipped with a Laser Slim Fluffy Cleaner Head, which uses a laser to highlight microscopic dust particles on hard floors. V8 doesn’t have it.
  • The V15 also includes a piezo sensor that measures and counts dust particles, providing real-time feedback on the LCD screen and adjusting suction power accordingly. Piezo sensor isn’t included in V8.
  • The V15 comes with all the tools that V8 contains and also has more specialized tools, including the Hair Screw Tool, which is designed to pick up pet hair without tangling.
  •  The V15 features an LCD screen that provides real-time information on the vacuum’s performance, battery life, and maintenance alerts. This display helps users optimize cleaning and stay informed about the vacuum’s status. The V8 does not have any display.
  • The V15 offers three cleaning modes (Eco, Auto, Boost) compared to the V8’s two modes (Powerful, Max). The additional Eco mode on the V15 provides more versatility and efficiency for different cleaning tasks.
  • Both models feature whole-machine HEPA filtration, but the V15 has an advanced filtration system that captures even finer particles and allergens, making it more effective for homes with allergy sufferers.
  • The V15’s High Torque cleaner head automatically adapts the suction power and brush bar speed based on the floor type, ensuring optimal cleaning performance on carpets & hard floors. The V8’s Direct Drive cleaner head does not have this adaptive capability.
  • The V15 operates at a lower noise level (~75 dB) compared to the V8 (~78 dB), making it quieter and more comfortable to use for extended periods.
  • The V15 has a slightly faster recharge time of 4.5 hours compared to the V8’s 5 hours. Both models feature replaceable batteries, allowing for extended cleaning sessions with additional battery packs.

Maybe the Dyson V10 price can make you comfortable because it’s a little bit cheaper than the V15. But you have to compromise all the above-mentioned features. Now the Decision is Yours. I hope it was helpful to choose the right one.

Faq

  • Is V8 newer than V15?
The Dyson V8 was released in the US in 2016, while the V15 was released in 2021.
  • Is it okay to leave Dyson V15 in charge?
Yes. The battery is designed to be left on charge permanently, and this will ensure that the vacuum is fully charged when it’s next used. Once the battery is fully charged, your machine won’t use any more electricity and will enter a standby/idle state.
  • Is the Dyson V8 good?
The Dyson V8 is good for low-pile carpets. It clears a decent amount of fine and large debris on low-pile carpeting, though you might still need to make another pass to collect everything. Thankfully, it’s highly effective at dealing with pet hair.
  • What is the difference between Dyson V8 and V15?
The V15 is a better option for heavier-duty cleaning sessions, thanks to a more powerful motor that helps clear debris on carpeted floors more effectively. It also has a larger dustbin that won’t need emptying as often. The V10 is notably lighter, making it easier to pick up and carry from room to room.
  • Why is the Dyson V15 so good?
Like the majority of the other Dyson vacuums I tested, the V15 Detect comes with two heads: one fluffy roller meant for hard surfaces and one with a hair-detangling tool for rugs and carpets. It also turns into a hand vac easily, as do all Dyson cordless models.
