Breville Barista Pro vs Express
Barista Express was released in 2011 & Barista Pro in 2019. Both machines are amazing with some similarities & differences, but if you are looking for the best one I will recommend the Barista Pro rather than Express.
Why Do I Recommend Barista Pro?
- Breville Barista Pro has ThermoJet heating system that can heat up 200 degrees Fahrenheit In just 3 seconds. In contrast, the Express takes more time to prepare the espresso for you.
- The Barista Pro is designed with digital display control, which will provide all the information you need to prepare a perfect espresso, but it’s unavailable on the Barista Express.
- Its conical burr grinder has 30 precision grind settings. With a single touch, you will get the right amount of coffee for maximum flavor. In comparison, the Express has 16 settings.
- The pro has a four-hole wand which can make a better quality foam each time for better taste. In comparison, the Express has a one-hole that can’t make rich foam.
- Barista Pro operates silently, which is very pleasant as you can prepare espresso in the middle of the night. In comparison, Barista Express makes noise when pulling a shot.
- Breville Barista Pro covers a two-year warranty, while the Express is one year. If any defective parts are included in the machine or face any problem, they are qualified for repair under the warranty period.
Only the price of Barista Express can make you comfortable because it’s a little cheaper than Pro, But you have to compromise all the above-mentioned features. Now the choice is yours. I hope it was helpful to make the right decision.

Things You Should Know About Breville Barista Pro & Express
Barista Pro
- Portafilter holds coffee beans in a certain amount. A surplus supply of coffee beans will let the instrument spread coffee outside while grinding.
- User preset options are not given in it. You have to adjust the setting manually from Menu options, rotating a dialer, or sometimes both.
Barista Express
- You must be cautious about the quantity or quality of ground coffee while pouring it into the machine. If you are not attentive, it will burn a large amount of inputted coffee and give you no time to adjust the amount.
Both Breville machines are perfect. But the Pro is the upgraded machine; it includes handy features to ensure you get the best espresso every time. And it covered a two-year warranty while the Express has a one-year warranty. You can select and rely on the Pro with your eyes closed. But if you have a budget issue plus happy without these features, go with the Breville Barista Express.
